Temperature trend is for above-normal temperatures.  Except when we have temperature crashes.  February starts out with a major temperature crash the first week, as cold air from Canada takes control of the weather.  There’ll be a warm-up to mild temperatures around February 9.  Mild days and cool nights are likely around February 12.  Mild temperatures continue through Valentine’s Day.    Crashing temperatures around February 18 bring a threat of winter precipitation.   A warm-up is likely by February 21.  Unseasonably dry and mild weather is likely around February 24. Temperatures crash again by February 27.  Rainy and cooler weather closes the month of February out, with thunderstorms in the forecast.

NEW MOON – 02 02 11 – BLUSTERY/DRY/COLD
A cold rain or sleet is likely the day of the New Moon itself,  then dry weather conditions for the next few days.  Mild weather, with partly cloudy skies, is expected on February 5, with no rain.

CRESCENT MOON – 02 06 11 – DRY/MILD
Partly cloudy, dry, and mild.  There may be some fog on February 9.

FIRST QUARTER MOON – 02 11 11 –MORNING FOG
Mild days and cool nights   Light rain on February 12 is possible.

Mild temperatures, east winds, with a falling barometer.   There may be some drizzle on February 14.

Lunar perigee time of the month brings more winter precipitation to our area.

Unseasonably dry and mild weather is likely.  Gusty winds may cause fire weather watches to be issued.  Temperatures fall around February 27, bringing a chance for rain.

SOLAR ECLIPSE – 06 01 11 –91/70 – DRY
Temps are in the low to mid-90s, and it’s dry.  They get down to 86 on about June 04.

MERCURY INGRESS – GEMINI – 06 02 11 – ESE WINDS TO 16 MPH

CRESCENT MOON – 06 05 11 – UPPER 80S TO LOW 90S/DRY
It’s still dry, with temps in the upper 80s to low 90s.

FIRST QUARTER MOON – 06 08 11 – 93/68 – RAIN/TSTORM
Light thunderstorms and rain on June 08 bring us some relief from the heat.  But it heats right back up to the mid 90s on June 09, and it’s dry.

It’s mostly dry, with temps in the upper 90s.  Temps get up to the century mark on Sep 06, with a chance for rain and thunderstorms.

GIBBOUS MOON  - 09 08 11 – 102/73 – HOT/RAIN/TSTORM
Rain and thunderstorms cool temps down to just below 90 by Sep 10.  Sep 10 is also likely to be dry.  It finally cools down to 89 by Sep 11.

MERCURY INGRESS – VIRGO – 09 09 11 –VARIABLE  S/SE BREEZES
Some breezes may get up to 15mph to 20mph.

It starts out with rain and tstorms on Oct 11, then dries up.  Temps are in the low 90s by Oct 13, and down to almost 80 degrees on Oct 15.

December starts out mild and dry.  It’s a bit cool in the morning.

FIRST QUARTER MOON – 12 02 11
Temps warm up to the upper 70s by Dec 04, with a little fog on Dec 03.

GIBBOUS MOON – 12 06 11 – MILD/DRY
Temps fall into the mid to low 50s, and it’s dry.  Temps move back into the low 60s, with dry weather.

LUNAR ECLIPSE – 12 10 11 – 61/34
It gets almost to freezing, but not quite.  The first two days are dry, then we have fog/rain/tstorm on Dec 12, and light rain on Dec. 13.  On Dec 13 temps fall back into the lower 40s.

DISSEMINATING MOON – 12 14 11 – HARD FREEZE/DRY
Temps continue cooling, with our first hard freeze of the season.  Fortunately it’s a dry hard freeze.

THIRD QUARTER MOON – 12 17 11 – 51/44 – FOG/RAIN – SNOW ON DEC 20
Fog and rain with temps in the low 50s on Dec 17.  Dec 18 has temps in the mid-50s, with fog/rain/tstorm.  Temps fall down to the upper 40s on Dec 19, with fog and rain.  It gets down to 33 that night.  Temps rise only a degree or two to the mid 30s on Dec 20, with SNOW!

BALSAMIC MOON – 12-21 11 – 71/37 – DRY
It’s mild and dry, although temps on Dec 22 are likely to get down to 30.

WINTER SOLSTICE – 12 22 11 – 68/30 – ABOVE-NORMAL
The trend is for above-normal temps til Dec 27.  Then they fall to below-normal, with a light freeze on Dec 28 and 29.  By Dec 31 temps are back to the upper 60s.

NEW MOON – 12 24 11 – 66/36 - DRY
LUNAR PERIGEE – 12 22 11
It’s still mild and dry for one more day.  Dec 25 has temps in the lower 70s, with fog and drizzle.  Dec 26 has temps in the upper 70s, with rain.

CRESCENT MOON – 12 28 11 – 44/32 – LIGHT FREEZE (DRY)
Dry and cool weather returns, with temps below-normal.  Then it warms up to almost-normal.  Temps are back up to the mid 60s by Dec 31, with dry weather for the end of the year.
